Skylar is a lively angel with a not so angel-like attitude at times. He loves escorting people to the pearly white gates of his home and he quite likes it down on Earth. He even adopted his middle name 'Freedom' as he sees when these souls come through they are free from the suffering of their old life and he is helping them to obtain absolute freedom. However, sometimes he can get pretty reckless and end up getting into trouble, whether it be with humans or other supernatural creatures. This has also lead to the threat he might be exiled from heaven and he would never be able to go back since once an angel is exiled they loose their good power and their wings turn from brilliant white to inky black as a stain of sin. Skylar has some characteristics in his attitude and actions that are more human than angel, this could either be his rise or downfall in the future the angels just hope he doesn't end up doing something tha will cause him to go bad.

Skylar is said to still be 'in training' as all of his tutors say, it does take quite a long time to become a fully fledged angel but it seems to be taking even longer for the american angel as he doesn't always do what he is told which is very important for someone like him. Sky is actually a pure angel, not in the sense of his behaviour or attitude but in the sense both of his parents were angels. He is a rare breed you could say as not many angels are able to have children since most had died on Earth then became God's messengers, though a rare few are able to have just one child and this is how pure angels come about. Pure angels are far stronger physically than normal angels and are able to pick up on what people are truly like by vibes and body language as well as behaviour like second nature. So it is very important for Skylar to be the best angel he can be so he can exceed his potential. There are only six pure angels and out of all of them Skylar is the most rebellious, this means he can get things wrong or cause something to happen which the older angels have to sort out.

Sky claims to not be afraid of anything and most of the time this is proved correct as he doesn't seem to be afraid whenever he sees a powerful devil of demon. However, many of those in heaven see this as quite stupid and dangerous due to the fact one of the most powerful of theirs could end up getting himself destroyed because of his 'fearless' attitude. Still, Skylar is unaware of who is a higher or lower rank with the devils and so might picks a fight with any of them without realising that they could be a high ranking devil with a lot of power.    

Sky's wings are extremely soft to the touch as he keeps his white feathers in pristine condition so it is easier to fly and it makes him look more impressive. Touching his wings is a big no unless he is married to you as this is one of his E zones and he does not truly want to commit any sins, so he will only have sex after marriage. Though there are many girls that have caught his eye he can tell almost immediately what they are actually like so doesn't tend to like what he finds. Skylar can also look into someone's eyes and see all of their memories even going back to when they were too small to remember anything. He will only use this however if he has gotten into a fight with a human and he finds saying tragic things in their past either creeps the person out or makes them so enraged about Sky even being there they go to try and think up a plan. He will also use this power if he needs to find something out about someone or something that he is with, whether it to find something out to protect someone or try to get rid of something like a demon.

All angels are able to hide their wings under their clothes if they fold them up but every angel can also use their power given to them to make their wings shrink and appear like tattooed wings on their backs. This makes it far easier than folding them up under a coat and not causing them to ache and cramp up after a while. However, it may take months or even years for an angel to perfect this, Skylar is one who has not yet fully perfected this and so just hides them by folding them up under his coat. He is able to change them into tattoos on his back but it takes him a lot of concentration and a lot of the time he just can't be bothered with it.  

When Skylar is on Earth he always hides his wings and only allows them to be seen by the people he is watching over or escorting to heaven as he is not allowed to draw attention to himself. He also wears clothing that you wouldn't think an angel would wear, usually black jeans with a triple chain dangling from his right side, a leather coat with a fleece-like collar, white shirt, boots or converse and his half slim rimmed glasses, this in itself is a way to conceal his identity so he is allowed to wear this sort of clothing. Though this may fool humans it doesn't fool dark supernatural creatures so he should be more weary than he is.

Skylar can play the guitar as one of his lessons he must learn is music, reason being a few angels can actually hypnotise or make people fall asleep when they play any instrument in an angelic way, pure angels it can come easier to then others. Many angels take up more than one instrument, most of the time from the different instrumental families like woodwind, brass and string. Sky however, doesn't practice as much as he should and can just play at a human standard, though when he really puts his mind to it the music from his guitar and gets into his zone it seems flawless and he can get close to how his tunes are supposed to sound. Sky plays mostly fast reels where his fingers move swiftly and efficiently to each note, people who see him play would be amazed at how fast he plays when he's in his musical zone. When he is in this frame of mind Sky will blank out anything and everything around him and a lot of the time will close his eyes subconsciously as he plays.

There have been quite a few things Skylar has not been taught about due to what he will do in the future. His main purpose is to help in warring against devils and demons so he cannot have anything to distract him in the future. So, Sky has not been taught things like love, mention this word or ask him to explain it and he will be clueless to what it is. There has been one person who has explained this to him, a vampire by the name of Veronica. However, as soon as she explained it Skylar just asked more questions like 'are humans born knowing?' and 'do you have to be taught it?' he really is clueless.

Skylar was taught to help people and help them find their way to heaven, that is what most angels do. Though, of course, Skylar thinks this applies to everyone and everything so he will even help creatures he shouldn't be anywhere near. For example, he should not be anywhere near Veronica as she is a vampire and vampires kill angels for their blood which allows them to not need to feed for days and also helps them to heal much faster. After an unfortunate event with Veronica's stepmother Skylar had actually let her feed from him. Technically though he is not breaking the rules, merely bending them. He is helping someone in need and so in a way cannot be punished but he won't be able to bend the rules all of the time.
